1st grade Standard 3 Objective 3a. Students will develop an understanding of their environment by demonstrating how symbols and models are used to represent features of the environment. Students will learn more about their community by developing map skills at the same time.
* What is the pedagogy you’ll be using and why is it a good fit with the content? Students will learn about their environment and realize how their area looks from above and see where their house is in relation to the area's landmark. They will be able to see all the unbelievable landmarks in the area. Hopefully through this they will be able to get a sense of relation of where things are located.
* What is the technology you’ll be using and why is it a good fit with the content and pedagogy? Students will be using Google Earth and they will be taking a virtual tour of their community filled with images and videos of their area.

Digital Storytelling TPACK
o What is the content you’ll be using in your lesson?
This is a silly poem about a girl who mistakes skiing for water skiing and is all ready to go and ski in the mountains when she realizes when her friends come to pick her up that really it is to go water skiing. This silly poem will be captured through photos put into a movie presentation with music and voices.
o What is the pedagogy you’ll be using and why is it a good fit with the content?
The pedagogy that they will be learning from this activity is the fun you can have with poems. Poems can tell a story. They will hear words that rhyme and phrases that sound good together.
o What is the technology you’ll be using and why is it a good fit with the content and pedagogy?
To bring this story to life, students will act out each scene. The digital camera will capture the moments of these kids in action. Then the story will be brought to life with Photo Story as we will record our voices over and put music to our digital pictures.
